Return & Refund Policy

Because editorial services are customized and delivered digitally, refunds are handled differently than for physical products. The goal of this policy is to provide clarity and ensure expectations are aligned before work begins.

Nature of Services

All services provided by Narrative Compass are digital, personalized, and created specifically for each client’s manuscript. Due to the time-intensive and customized nature of editorial work, completed services are generally non-refundable.

Deposits and Payments

Full payment or a deposit may be required before work begins, depending on the service. Once work has started, payments are non-refundable.

If a project is cancelled before work begins, a refund may be issued minus any administrative or processing fees.

Client Satisfaction

Editorial feedback is inherently subjective. Narrative Compass provides professional recommendations intended to strengthen the clarity, structure, and effectiveness of the manuscript while preserving the author’s voice and intent.

Refunds are not issued based on differences in stylistic preference or disagreement with editorial suggestions.

If there are concerns about the delivery, clients are encouraged to reach out so that questions or misunderstandings can be addressed.

Project Scope

Refunds are not available for work completed outside the originally agreed scope or for additional services requested after the project has begun.

Turnaround Time

Estimated turnaround times are provided as guidelines and are not guaranteed. Narrative Compass is not responsible for delays caused by incomplete submissions, late client responses, or revisions requested outside the agreed timeline.

File Submission Responsibility

Clients are responsible for submitting the correct manuscript version prior to the start of the project. If a revised manuscript is provided after editing has begun, additional fees may apply.

No Guarantee of Publication or Sales

While editorial feedback is intended to strengthen a manuscript, Narrative Compass does not guarantee publication, representation, sales, reviews, or any specific outcome.
